Short answer
The best LMS for associations is the one that syncs with your AMS, tracks CE credits and certifications, and prices courses differently for members and nonmembers. In 2026 the main association-focused options are Cadmium, Forj, OasisLMS, Path LMS, TopClass and MyPass, with Docebo and Thought Industries as broader platforms that can be configured for member education.
Choosing the best LMS for associations comes down to three systems talking to each other: your AMS (the member record), your LMS (courses, exams, credits) and your payment flow (member vs. nonmember pricing). If you need a primer on how those fit together, start with what an association LMS is and what it should do. This post assumes you already know you need one and want a shortlist.
Two disclosures. First, we make MyPass LMS, which is one of the eight platforms below; we have tried to describe it with the same caveat-first approach as everyone else. Second, every third-party fact here comes from the vendor's own website as checked in October 2026, linked inline so you can verify it. Platforms are listed alphabetically, not ranked. For longer write-ups of individual products, see our LMS reviews library.
Association LMS comparison table (2026)
"AMS integrations" lists only systems the vendor names publicly. "Not named" does not mean a vendor cannot connect to your AMS; it means you have to ask, and ask for a reference customer on the same AMS.
| Platform | Best fit | AMS integrations named publicly | CE and certification | Pricing model |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cadmium (Elevate, EthosCE) | Conference-driven associations; medical societies (EthosCE) | Not named; SSO and data APIs | CE tracking, renewable certifications; EthosCE reports to ACCME PARS, JA PARS, CPE Monitor, CE Broker | Quote-based |
| Docebo | Large associations with corporate-style training needs | Not named; custom integrations | Certification and retraining app | Quote-based, priced by active users |
| Forj LMS | Associations that want learning and community together | Not named | CE and certification (few details published) | Quote-based |
| MyPass LMS | Small and mid-size associations wanting flat pricing | iMIS, Nimble AMS, MemberClicks, Fonteva, NetForum, YourMembership, GrowthZone, Personify | CE compliance, expiration alerts, certificates, proctored exams | Published: $0 self-hosted, $99/mo, $319/mo, Enterprise custom |
| OasisLMS | CE-heavy associations and CME/CLE/CPE providers | iMIS, Fonteva, Nimble AMS, NetForum, YourMembership, Rhythm, Protech, GlueUp, reMembers, Salesforce | CME/CE credit tracking and reporting, exams with AI proctoring | Published: from $1,000/mo by annual users |
| Path LMS (Momentive) | Associations turning webinars and events into on-demand education | Not named; AMS, CRM and event platforms | CE credit, badge and certificate tools | Quote-based |
| Thought Industries | Associations running education as a commercial business | Not named; APIs | Certifications; CE credits not mentioned | Quote-based, tiered by learner count |
| TopClass LMS | Complex certification and MOC programs, especially on iMIS | iMIS, Salesforce; others via REST API | All CE credit types, MOC, badges, micro-credentials | Quote-based |
The 8 platforms: fit, features, price and caveats
1. Cadmium (Elevate and EthosCE)
- Who it suits: Associations whose education calendar is built around an annual meeting. Cadmium also sells Eventscribe (event management) and Warpwire (media), so sessions can flow from the conference into the LMS. EthosCE is the version aimed at medical societies, health systems and CME teams.
- Association features: The Elevate product page lists renewable and progressive certifications with automated reminders, CE and attendance tracking across live and on-demand programs, and pricing by member status, role or chapter. The EthosCE page lists reporting integrations with ACCME PARS, JA PARS, CPE Monitor and CE Broker.
- Pricing: Quote-based. Cadmium's own page says association LMS costs generally run from $5,000 to $25,000+ per year for mid-size and large organizations.
- Caveat: No specific AMS is named; integration is described as SSO plus data APIs. You are also buying into a suite, so check which modules your quote assumes.
2. Docebo
- Who it suits: Large associations that also run employee, partner or extended-enterprise training and want one enterprise platform for all of it.
- Association features: Docebo's association LMS guide pitches it for member training, with a Certification & Retraining app, with ecommerce and many add-ons (extended enterprise, communities, advanced analytics).
- Pricing: Quote-based. The Docebo pricing page says price scales with tier and user model (monthly, yearly or registered active users), the minimum contract is one year, most customers sign for three to five years, and it is "typically best suited" to organizations training 250+ learners.
- Caveat: It is a corporate LMS first. No AMS is named publicly and CE credit tracking is not described, so member pricing and AMS sync are configuration or integration projects. Our Docebo alternatives comparison covers where it fits and where it doesn't.
3. Forj LMS (formerly Web Courseworks)
- Who it suits: Associations that treat learning and member community as one program. The Forj LMS page says the LMS is "purpose-built for associations and professional networks" and that Forj and Web Courseworks merged in 2023.
- Association features: Continuing education, certification and social learning, plus Forj Connect (peer and group communication) and Journey by Forj, which combines community and learning.
- Pricing: Quote-based.
- Caveat: The public pages give little detail on CE rules or AMS connectors. If credit tracking is your core requirement, put it at the top of your demo script.
4. MyPass LMS (Kprise)
- Who it suits: Small and mid-size associations that want published, flat pricing and a prebuilt connector to a mainstream AMS. Kprise, based in Bethesda, Maryland, has built training and certification software since 2010; MyPass is used by 130+ organizations in 11 countries, including American Board (ABCTE), a customer since 2016.
- Association features: Native integrations with iMIS, Nimble AMS, MemberClicks, Fonteva, NetForum, YourMembership, GrowthZone and Personify. A Compliance Hub covers CE compliance, expiration alerts and AMS member sync, alongside certificates, course selling, assessments with webcam proctoring review, ILT scheduling and white-label branding. Details are on the MyPass LMS for associations page.
- Pricing: Published. Community Edition is $0 and self-hosted. Shared Hosting is $99/mo ($79/mo billed annually) with up to 50 simultaneous logins; Private Hosting is $319/mo ($249/mo annually) with up to 1,000 simultaneous logins; Enterprise is custom. Every plan includes unlimited registered users. Associations can apply for 20% off (stacks with annual billing) and a 60-day trial.
- Caveat: Kprise is a much smaller vendor than Docebo or Momentive, so ask about support coverage and roadmap like you would with any small vendor. Plans cap simultaneous logins, so size the plan for your busiest hour, not your member count. Accreditation-body reporting (ACCME PARS, CE Broker) is not among the integrations Kprise lists.
5. OasisLMS (360Factor)
- Who it suits: Associations and education providers where credit is the product: CME, CLE, CPE and other CE programs.
- Association features: The OasisLMS homepage lists CME/CE credit tracking and reporting, certificates, live, on-demand and hybrid delivery, auto-graded exams with AI proctoring, and pricing, discount and subscription tools. It names iMIS, Fonteva, Nimble AMS, NetForum, YourMembership, Rhythm, Protech, GlueUp, reMembers and Salesforce.
- Pricing: Published. The OasisLMS pricing page lists Standard at $1,000/mo for up to 1,000 annual users and Professional at $2,000/mo for up to 3,000, with implementation included and no per-learner overage fees.
- Caveat: The entry price is $12,000 a year, which is a lot for a small association. Branded iOS and Android apps are $1,500/mo each, and custom integration work is scoped separately.
6. Path LMS (Momentive)
- Who it suits: Associations with a heavy webinar and conference schedule that want to repackage sessions as on-demand courses. Momentive, which also sells NetForum AMS, acquired Path LMS maker Blue Sky eLearn in February 2025; the announcement put Path LMS at more than three million users across 400 organizations.
- Association features: According to Momentive's own LMS roundup, live and on-demand course management, integration with AMS, CRM and event platforms, SCORM and video, and built-in CE credit, badge and certificate tools.
- Pricing: Quote-based (custom pricing via demo).
- Caveat: No specific AMS is named publicly, and the product changed owners recently. Ask how it connects to your AMS if that AMS is not a Momentive product, and ask for the 18-month roadmap in writing.
7. Thought Industries
- Who it suits: Associations that sell education to members, nonmembers and companies as a real business line. The Thought Industries homepage lists member education and professional learning among its solution areas.
- Association features: Certifications, multiple branded audience sites ("Panoramas"), commerce and APIs.
- Pricing: Quote-based. The pricing page tiers its Academy product by learners and audience sites: Starter up to 500 learners, Professional up to 2,000, Enterprise up to 5,000.
- Caveat: CE credits and AMS connectors are not mentioned publicly. The learner caps per tier matter if your whole membership might log in.
8. TopClass LMS (WBT Systems)
- Who it suits: Associations and certification bodies with complex credential rules: multi-step certifications, recertification cycles and Maintenance of Certification.
- Association features: The TopClass site lists certification competencies and rules, all types of CE credit, MOC, digital badges and micro-credentials, and online sales of certification programs. It names iMIS and Salesforce, plus a REST API.
- Pricing: Quote-based.
- Caveat: WBT Systems is an affiliate of Advanced Solutions International, the company behind iMIS. That is a plus on iMIS; on any other AMS, ask for a live reference on your system.
Key point
Almost every "best LMS for associations" list that ranks on Google is published by a vendor that puts itself first, including the company publishing this one. Treat any list, ours included, as a starting set of names. The demo script further down is what separates them.

Evaluation criteria and weights for an association LMS
Score each finalist from 1 to 5 on every criterion, multiply by the weight, and add up. Agree on the weights with your education director, membership director and finance lead before the first demo, so nobody reverse-engineers them to favor a platform they liked.
| Criterion | Weight | What a 5 looks like |
|---|---|---|
| AMS integration | 25% | Prebuilt connector for your AMS, two-way sync of member status and completions, a reference customer on the same AMS |
| CE credits and certification | 20% | Credit types per course, renewal cycles, expiration reminders, transcripts members can download, accreditor reporting if you need it |
| Member pricing and commerce | 15% | Member, nonmember and tier pricing driven by AMS status, bundles, group purchases, promo codes |
| Total cost at your member count | 15% | Three-year cost you can calculate from a published price or a written quote, with no surprise per-learner fees |
| Staff workload | 10% | Your education coordinator can build a course, set credit and publish it without the vendor |
| Learner experience | 10% | Single sign-on from the member portal, mobile-friendly courses, accessible player |
| Vendor stability and support | 5% | Clear ownership, written roadmap, named support contact and response times |
AMS integration carries the most weight because it determines how much manual reconciliation your staff do every week. Our LMS and AMS integration guide explains which data should flow in which direction. Member pricing gets its own line because it is where most corporate LMSs struggle; the mechanics of tiers and access rules are covered in member management and membership tiers in an association LMS.
Example
Two finalists: Platform A scores 5 on AMS integration and 3 on commerce; Platform B scores 3 on AMS and 5 on commerce. With the weights above, A gets 1.25 + 0.45 = 1.70 on those two lines and B gets 0.75 + 0.75 = 1.50. If the rest is even, A wins, because a broken member sync costs you every week while a weaker storefront costs you at launch.
How to price an association LMS at your real member count
Association LMS vendors meter usage in at least four different ways, and the same membership can produce very different bills:
- Annual users: anyone who logs in during the contract year counts (OasisLMS). Budget on members who take at least one course a year, not total members.
- Active users: monthly, yearly or registered active users (Docebo). Ask how a member who logs in once to download a certificate is counted.
- Learner caps by tier: a fixed ceiling per plan (Thought Industries Academy). Ask what happens on the day you cross it.
- Unlimited registered users with a concurrency cap: any number of accounts, but a limit on simultaneous logins (MyPass). Size for your busiest hour, such as a CE deadline or a post-conference rush.
Worked example: an association with 6,000 members, 1,400 of whom take at least one course a year. On OasisLMS's published tiers that is 1,400 annual users, which falls in Professional ($2,000/mo, $24,000 a year), because Standard stops at 1,000. On a learner-capped plan, 1,400 learners would need the 2,000-learner tier. On an active-user quote, the number depends on how the vendor counts certificate-only logins. Run the same 1,400 through every vendor's model and ask for a three-year figure in writing.
Tip
Ask each vendor for a quote at your current learner count and at 1.5 times that number. The gap between the two quotes tells you more about long-term cost than the first-year price.
Questions to ask association LMS vendors
Send these in writing before the demo so the answers are on record. Our list of 15 questions to ask every LMS vendor covers general contract and security questions; these are the association-specific ones.
- Is your integration with our AMS a prebuilt connector or custom work, and who maintains it when the AMS releases an update?
- Which fields sync, in which direction, and how often? What happens to a course purchase if the sync fails?
- Can you give us a reference customer on the same AMS and roughly our size?
- Can one course carry different credit types and amounts (for example 1.5 CPE and 1.0 CEU), and can members download a transcript?
- How do you handle recertification cycles and expiration reminders?
- If a member lapses, what happens to courses they bought at member price and to their credit history?
- Exactly how is a billable user counted, and what does it cost if we exceed the tier mid-contract?
- Which features in the demo are add-ons, and what would our three-year total be?
- Do you report credits to our accrediting body directly, or do we export a file?
- Can we export all courses, completions and credit records in a usable format if we leave?
A 45-minute demo script to test every finalist
Standard sales demos show the best path through the product. Give every finalist the same script, ask them to run it live in a sandbox connected to a test copy of your AMS, and score as you watch:
- Create a nonmember in the AMS. Log in to the LMS through single sign-on and buy a course at the nonmember price.
- Upgrade that person to a member in the AMS. Confirm the LMS shows member pricing on the next course without anyone touching the LMS.
- Have your education coordinator (not the sales engineer) create a one-hour course with 1.0 CE credit and a 10-question quiz.
- Complete the course as the member. Check that the certificate, the credit on the transcript and the completion in the AMS all appear, and note how long the AMS took.
- Pull a report of credits earned this year by member type, and export it.
Any step a vendor cannot show live, or wants to "follow up on," becomes a line item in your risk column. A platform that passes all five steps on your own AMS is a real finalist, whatever its marketing says.
Frequently asked questions
What is the best LMS for associations?
There is no single best LMS for associations; the right one depends on your AMS, your credit requirements and your budget. Association-focused options include Cadmium, Forj, OasisLMS, Path LMS, TopClass and MyPass LMS. Docebo and Thought Industries are broader platforms that can serve associations with more configuration. Shortlist the ones with a proven connector to your AMS, then run the same live demo script on each.
How much does an association LMS cost?
Published prices range widely. Cadmium says association LMS costs generally run from $5,000 to $25,000 or more per year for mid-size and large organizations. OasisLMS publishes tiers from $1,000 per month. MyPass LMS publishes plans from $99 per month plus a free self-hosted edition. Docebo, Path LMS, TopClass, Forj and Thought Industries quote individually, so ask each for a three-year total.
Does an association LMS need to integrate with the AMS?
In practice, yes. The AMS holds member status, so the LMS needs it to apply member pricing and access rules, and the AMS needs completions and credits back so the member record stays complete. Without integration, staff end up exporting and importing spreadsheets every week. Ask whether the connector is prebuilt or custom and for a reference customer on your AMS.
Which LMS works with iMIS?
Several vendors name iMIS publicly. TopClass LMS is built by WBT Systems, an affiliate of Advanced Solutions International, which makes iMIS. OasisLMS and MyPass LMS also list iMIS among their integrations. Other vendors may connect through APIs without naming iMIS, so ask them directly and request an iMIS reference customer before you shortlist.
What is the difference between active-user and registered-user LMS pricing?
Active-user pricing charges for people who log in during a month or year, so cost rises with engagement. Annual-user tiers work the same way over a contract year. Registered-user pricing counts accounts; some vendors allow unlimited registered accounts and cap simultaneous logins instead. Model your expected learners under each method before comparing quotes.
